Former director of drug task force indicted

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The former executive director of a narcotics task force based in Maysville has been indicted on a charge of taking money from the organization.

The U.S. attorney's office in Lexington says 52-year-old Timothy George Fegan of Germantown, Ky., was director of the Buffalo Trace/Gateway Narcotics Task Force and was also a sworn Maysville police officer. He is accused of appropriating thousands of dollars in cash that task force agents seized during drug investigations and cash the organization kept on hand for drug buys.

Prosecutors say Fegan served as the executive director from April 2010 to November 2012.

The indictment was returned Thursday.

A spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office did not know whether Fegan had been arrested or whether he was represented by a lawyer.
