FRANKFORT, KY. (WKYT) - Deputies found 118 marijuana plants behind a construction site on Monday. Franklin County sheriff's deputies and firefighters cut the plants from a hill behind a store that is under construction in the Park Side Drive development. The sheriff says a tip helped them make the discovery.
"This community never ceases to amaze me, especially the relationship we have. They have had enough and, you know, we are getting tips every day on illegal activity in our community and it's just a great relationship to have that information coming in," says Sheriff Pat Melton.
Deputies say the marijuana is worth $236,000.
