It's a new record Lexington drivers really didn't want to see.
Most gas stations around town are now selling a gallon of regular gas for more than four dollars.
It's actually around $4.15 a gallon at many places, a 25 cent jump from Sunday.
Gas has never been that expensive in Lexington before.
One employment agency we spoke to said they're seeing more people coming in looking for a second job, to help offset their gas expenses. Others are finding alternatives by riding motorcycles or buying smaller, more efficient vehicles.
The national average is now at $4.11 a gallon. That's also a new record.
