Kenneth Johnson has given up almost all hope that his son, Jeremy, is alive.
“My heart's telling me my son is gone. My son's no more,” says a sobbing father, who desperately wants to find his son, even if that means just finding his body.
It's been almost a month since Jeremy was last seen. Kentucky State Police and the Knox County Sheriff have since combed the hills both on ground and in the air looking for him. Now the Johnson family is pleading with the public for help.
“We just wish maybe you'd go out and search your property and maybe if something looks out of the way, check it out,” Johnson asks of southeastern Kentucky neighbors.
Johnson was last seen at Angels & Wings in Corbin about 10:30 p.m. on June 10th. His family says he had about 2 to 3 beers and was seen leaving in a red car.
Now Kenneth Johnson is offering a $5,000 reward for his son's return.
“We need peace of mind. We just want to lay our son to rest,” says Johnson.
Johnson says his family can't sleep at night. And he says he doesn't know what to tell Jeremy's 2 year old son.
“It's hard to be home with his 2 year old son and every time the door opens he runs to see if it's his daddy.”
