Power outage leaves thousands in the dark in Lexington and Paris

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky Utilities crews are working to restore power to thousands of customers who lost it Tuesday night.

KU officials say 9,000 customers in north Lexington and in Paris lost power because of a transmission line outage near Paris Pike.

KU is not sure what caused the outage, but crews are investigating it, and are working to restore power.

Power was restored to most of the Lexington customers by 7:15 p.m.

KU hopes to have power restored to everyone else by 9 p.m. Tuesday.
