Deadly Hit And Run Stumps Lexington Police

Lexington police are asking for the public's help in solving the mystery about who ran down a man last month.

30-year-old Anthony Gay was hit while crossing Walden Drive back on June 29th. He died days later at UK hospital.

Police say the vehicle that hit Gay also ran into two parked cars.

Police say they have some evidence but say that it doesn't add up.

Police think someone was with Gay on the night he died, but he was found bleeding in the middle of the street by a complete stranger.

Police also think the vehicle that ran over Gay was a truck or SUV because the damage on the two parked cars was on the driver's side window, which leads them to believe it was a larger vehicle.

Gay's father is pleading with people to help police. He buried his son on Tuesday.

Police are trying to piece together a timeline of events on the night Gay was hit.

If you have any information, you can call Bluegrass Crimestoppers at (859) 253-2020. You could be eligible for a reward.
