A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
Visitation will be held on Thursday night for an eastern Kentucky soldier who died from injuries he received while fighting in Afghanistan.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Army Specialist Estell Turner was wounded in late June by a roadside bomb.
Turner was serving as a motor transport operator with the Army's 101st Airborne Division.
Visitation begins at six Thursday night at Watts Funeral Home in Breathitt County. Turner's funeral is at ten Friday morning.
Turner was 43-years-old.
