FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Nearly 265,000 Kentuckians are now enrolled in health coverage through Kentucky's online health care exchange program.
Gov. Steve Beshear's office says in February, nearly 70,000 signed up, at a rate of about 2,400 people every day of the month.
About half of the enrollees are under the age of 35.
The governor's office says people in every county have signed up for health coverage, with the highest enrollment numbers coming from Jefferson and Fayette counties.
The governor's office reports that the site, which has drawn praise from President Barack Obama, has had 1,173,577 unique visitors, viewing 42.1 million total Web pages.
The site's administrators say that during the heaviest traffic times, the website can support 2,000 viewers simultaneously.
Open enrollment will continue through March 31.
