A man is fighting for his life after he was shot by Lexington police officers on Monday morning.
Police were called to Arbor Station Way, off Sandersville Road, for a domestic dispute around 4:00 a.m.
Police say when they got to the scene, they encountered 44-year-old Warren Douglas Rayburn, armed with an assault rifle.
Police say they asked him to put down the weapon, but he wouldn't listen to them. That's when Officer Matthew Jordan shot Rayburn several times.
Rayburn was taken to UK Hospital where he underwent surgery. At last check, he was listed in critical condition.
