Presidential Candidates May Come To Fancy Farm

The eyes of the political world may be turned towards Kentucky later this summer.

One or both major presidential candidates may be at Fancy Farm in western Kentucky on August first.

Fancy Farm is the state's premiere political event. Since the 1800's crowds have gathered to hear politicians give it their best shot.

Al Gore and Lloyd Bentsen attended as vice presidential candidates. Would-be governors, senators and others give hot speeches as listeners eat spicy barbecue in the often intense August heat.

Barack Obama's camp says there's a 50-50 chance he'll be at Fancy Farm. John McCain's campaign has also received information about the picnic from the Kentucky Republican Party.
