BARDSTOWN, KY -- A two-car crash in Nelson County yesterday sent a pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal in its Sunday edition.

Tonya Watkins, 27, of Clarksville, Tenn., was walking along Bluegrass Parkway near Bardstown around 6 p.m. when a car struck her and pinned her against a guardrail, reports the C-J.

That vehicle had been rear-ended after slowing down due to a vehicle stopped on the shoulder, according to a statement from the Kentucky State Police. Watkins was flown to University of Louisville Hospital, according to the KSP Post in Elizabethtown.
