GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Georgetown College plans to lay off some employees as a way to reduce the college's budget deficit.
In an announcement Monday night, Georgetown College Dr. M. Dwaine Greene did not say how many employees would be laid off.
The college will also discontinue French, German, Computer Science, and Music majors.
Employee and retiree benefits will also be adjusted.
Georgetown college officials say the changes are part of a "strategic renewal" of the college that will take place over the next two years.
