A Richmond couple faces charges after police say they left their 8-month-old child home alone.

Early Wednesday morning, police were called to Manna Drive for a domestic dispute. Police say when they arrived, someone told them the couple, 22-year-old Tiffany Alcorn and 25-year-old James D. Williams, left their child at home.

Police say neither parent admitted to having a key to the home. Once police got into the home, they say they found the baby girl alone, crying on the living room floor.

Police say Alcorn was intoxicated at the time.

Both Alcorn and Williams have been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and are being held in the Madison County Detention Center.

The baby is now in the care of her grandmother.

There you go. Just put down some newspapers for the baby to pee on. Set out some water. Turn the tv on so it doesn't get lonely... yeah.. good job. Have more kids while you are at it. You can have the older infants watch the newborns. Offer them 1 year in jail OR a vasectomy/tubal ligation.

I have 5 grand children from 1-12 and they have NEVER been left alone if my children are in a shouting match I get the kids so they can make up, but the kids are first for all of my family I pray all the time for the lord to protect these kids that have bad parents and for Melissa From Ky your right about the state not caring about any child

The baby is better off with another family. It is probably terrible at what she was exposed to from these two people. Just because people can give birth, it does not make them parents. Both of them need to be fixed. After all, the woman didn't get pregnant on her own, the lowlife man that helped needs to be fixed as well. They're both probably living off the rest of us, using their checks to get their fixes.

Lock up the parents and throw away the keys.

This mis-fit mother will get her kid back, you just watch and see! The state will step in and try to TEACH HER HOW TO BE A MOMMY! Make's me sick!

As bad as it is, maybe it is a blessing. Hopefully, they will lose the baby to a family that will take care of her. If they were fighting in the house, they may not have been arrested.

I can't believe anyone could be so stupid. Give these babies to someone who will take care of them--just because you give birth to a child--does not make you a mother.

Mandatory sterilization. Both the 'boy' and 'girl'.

funny as it is to say but would it been any better if they had keep the fight inside and the baby herd them shouting at each other you could look at this as they took the fight to the streets and not on top of there child how many thousands of couples maby millions in the homes with small children maby we should put a fight monitor mic in homes and arrest all bickering parents in America.

I lived in TN with a woman who had 3 kids and one that was on the way. The day she had her 4th kid I was there and it was a good feeling,Even though this little girl wasn't mine I would never hurt it. So how do people do this to there own flesh and blood? If you still need to go out and party and fuss then keep your pants up!!!! This child didn't ask to come in this world you made this child so grow up and take care of it!!!!! STOP being LOW LIFES!!!!

Its hurtful to see a baby be neglected and possibly returned to parents. Being someone that has tried to adopt to no avail, this is upsetting. These parents are too selfish to realize what a wonderful thing it is just to have a baby to love.

DRUGS - most of the biggest problems in our society today can be directly linked to drugs! This is why unless you are willing to give up the party life you don't need to have children and if you get pregnant and can't give up the drugs you need to give the baby up for adoption instead of giving it a crappy life.

HOW CAN YOU LEAVE A CHILD ALONE AT HOME OR IN A VEHICLE, NO EXCUSE AT ALL FOR THIS NEGLIGANCE !!!!

Some people really need to think about adoption. If they are not responsible enough to protect a child they don't need to raise them.

WHAT I AM BURNING ON:It's hard for me to comprehend an adult neglecting or abusing a child. The greatest gift in the world is a child. If I was presiding over a case and you came before me with a case, you'll wish you were in hell. For the life of me I'll never understand how people can be so cruel.I feel the same about rape and being cruel to animals. Now no one loves to have more fun than I but you ot make sure things are inorder before living it up.Right here and now I just pray that these children are loved and protected. As for those who responsible for these actions, your day will come and it's not gonna be pretty.I can't think of the lady's name that really prosecute cases like this,I just know when this matter goes before the court, there won't be no mercy and no plea, she ain't having it.So those who think of abusing a child, you better think twice before cross the line when it comes to abusing a child. The female prosceutor I am referring to is my SHERO.LOCK THAT UP.

Some people don't deserve to be parents. It's obvious they are not thinking of the child first or she wouldn't have been left alone. I hope they don't get custody of the baby back. The baby deserves better then those to loosers they call "parents".

Really! What is wrong with people? Some people would love to have kids and then there are parents that do this to their kids. I really just don't get it.
