Lexington is getting a brand new library and an old one is going to the highest bidder.

The property on Russell Cave Road will go up on the auction block Friday. The idea is to bring in a lot more money to put into the new facility that's being built next door.

The property includes an 11,000 square-foot library, a nearly 3,000 square-foot maintenance building, and five acres.
The auction begins at 11 Friday morning.
