State Wins Big, Thanks To Lottery

In tough economic times, many people are hoping their luck will change and that means big business for the Kentucky Lottery.

Sales and prize payments broke all time records in the 2008 fiscal year. More than 778 million dollars in lottery tickets were sold in the commonwealth, that's 34 million dollars more than last year.

The state received more than 192 million dollars for literacy, college scholarships and grant programs this year from the lottery.
