Jobless rates are up in 108 Kentucky counties.
Magoffin County recorded the state's highest unemployment rate at 11.8%. It was followed by Jackson and Clay counties.
The numbers weren't as bad in central Kentucky.
Woodford County had the state's lowest jobless rate at 5.8%
Fayette, Jessamine, Madison, Scott and Bourbon counties all reported under 6% unemployment rates.
Unemployment statistics are based on estimates and are compiled to measure trends rather than actually to count people working. Civilian labor force statistics include non-military workers and unemployed Kentuckians who are actively seeking work. They do not include unemployed Kentuckians who have not looked for employment within the past four weeks.
