Storms continue to develop across our region. This action will dump additional heavy rains that can cause flash flooding.
An eastern Kentucky man, injured while working in a coal mine earlier this month, has died from his injuries.
45-year-old Joseph D. Roberts was hurt back on July 17 while riding on top of a scoop, according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. It happened at the Butcher Branch Mine in Bell County.
Roberts was pinned against the roof of the mine during that accident, that's according to a report released about the accident.
The Herald-Leader reports Roberts has been at a Tennessee hospital where he died during emergency surgery.
It's the first underground mining death for the state so far this year.
