A year ago Wednesday, a well-known Montgomery County business man was found murdered in his home.

State Police found Carl Bartley, with a gun-shot wound to the back of his head on July 30th, 2007. His wife, Pam Bartely, was charged with her husband's murder and is awaiting the September trial.

She pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and is free on a $100,000 bond. Her freedom continues to frustrate the family of Carl Bartley.

"We just find it hard to believe, she can just walk the streets freely, like nothing happened and she intentionally harasses my family on a daily basis," said Bill Bartley, Carl's older brother.

Life over the last year has been anything but easy for the Bartley family, especially for Carl's mother, Mattie Lou Bartley.

"I think about it him everyday. It feels like it was just yesterday," said Mattie Lou.

Carl's brother, Bill Bartley, says the last year has been tougher than he ever could of imagined.

"My brother was a big part of our family, he just made our lives easier and now that he's gone, it's like a part of us died too," said Bartley.

Pam Bartley's murder trial starts on September 15th. But while it will be up to a jury to decide if she's guilty of killing her husband, Carl's mother says she doesn't need a trial to know who killed her son.

"I have no doubt she (Pam) did it. No doubt, what so ever, she killed him and she's trying to get away with it," said Mattie Lou.

This week a Montgomery County Circuit Judge denied a request from Pam Bartley's attorney's to suppress evidence found at the Bartley home following her husband's death.

Joe I like how everyone forgets that she worked at Lexmart for 20 years. When she retired she was making alot of money. I've seen the cancelled checks for the new house and they all were from her account... Half the garage is still in his name and his fishing boat in Florida. By the way she also paid for the house in Florida because he really didn't want it. It will all come out in the trial and everyone will be shocked, mad and wandering what other felonies he commited. Money ha! ha! That's why he had borrowed money from several people which she had to pay back after his death..

Carol there was other money..Everything that was in Pam's name was bought with drug money. It was in her name so they couldn't take it if they caught him dealing the drugs..I didn't like his dealing but other than that he was a good person. He wasn't the only one cheating. Even with the property being in her name he would have gotten half in the divorce. They need to fry her like an Egg!

Every one is saying she killed him for the money. There was no money. The only insurance policy was collected by his mother, brothers and sisters. Everything was Pam's. That much is public record. He was a convicted drug dealer who just served time following a cocaine conviction in April of 2007. Also, public record.

well it just shows how many people love to talk and think they know just exactly what happened. guess what your all wrong i had a birds eye view for weeks before she murdered him. she only did it because yes he was having an affair and i never knew him to ever hit her but i know they liked pulling the guns out on each other, carl didn't get what he deserved he was a good man and a good father and grandfather she had no right to shoot him, think about it he was walking away when she shot him, the way I see it no one has the right to take another life but god!!!!!!!!!!!

She killed him for the money.I guess those black eyes didn't bother her to much. If she was being abused she could always have gotten a divorce. She knew she couldn't get everything in the divorce. I don't think she should get to use his money to defend herself for killing him. If you are scared of someone and being beaten by them you divorce them and get the hell away them. You don't cheat on them, complain about being abused and then kill them.

If he beat her as the comment below said....he got what was coming to him. If he didn't beat her I hope his family gets the justice they desire!

I worked with Pam back in the 1980's, She would come in with Black Eyes. She would joke about Carl having a gun that shoots around corners. Carl was a Wife Beater. If Pam did this I hope the family of Carl will be able to forgive her. I hope Pam has seeked GOD's forgiveness. I pray for Pam, Their children and Carl's Family.
