Police Probe Stabbing Incident At Arts & Entertainment Center

LOUISVILLE, KY -- Louisville police are investigating a fatal stabbing at the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave., early Sunday, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Police spokesman Officer Phil Russell said a Hispanic man in his early 20s and another person got into "an altercation" at a private party inside the center at about 2 a.m. He said the two took their dispute outside, where the victim was stabbed several times and died.

Police were talking with witnesses early this morning, but had no immediate suspects, Russell said.

The victim was not identified. Anyone with information can call the LMPD anonymous tip line, 574-5673, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.
