Police Investigating Man Shot In Car

LOUISVILLE, KY -- A man is in extremely critical condition at University Hospital after he was shot while driving his car in downtown Louisville early Sunday, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Louisville Police spokesman, Officer Phil Russell, said the man was driving a Dodge Charger and had just crossed the Clark Memorial Bridge heading south when the incident occurred. Russell said a police officer who was in the area heard gunshots at about 3:15 a.m., and found the driver in his car, which had crashed into a tree south of Main Street.

A passenger in the car was uninjured, Russell said. Neither were immediately identified, reports the C-J.

Russell said police don't yet know if the gunshots were fired by someone in another car or on foot. Anyone with information about the incident can call the anonymous tip line at 574-5673, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.
