Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows tonight. Many areas may wake up to thermometer readings below zero.
Clay City, KY (WKYT) - Members of the Bluegrass Emergency Response Team were called to a home on Shiloh Road in Powell County Tuesday morning.
The Powell County Sheriff tells WKYT the situation started after emergency responders took a woman to UK Hospital with blisters. He says caretakers at the hospital told them the blisters appeared to have been caused by radiation. Three or four first responders were decontaminated as a precaution. The sheriff says they were not complaining of any symptoms.
Shiloh Road was blocked off while officials investigated and a shelter-in-place was order for homes along the road. The sheriff said he didn't know what was in the home, but said he didn't believe it would be anything serious.
Around 1:30pm members of the Bluegrass Emergency Response Team gave the all clear. They said they found no evidence of any chemical or radiological exposure in the home.
