Kentucky State Police say four people could face charges after finding an active meth lab inside a Clay County home.
The investigation shut down Highway 421 in Big Creek for several hours Wednesday night as a precaution.
An anonymous tip brought investigators to the mobile home around midnight.
Once inside, police say they found items used to make meth and called in a haz-mat team.
Police say the odor from the cooking process was overpowering.
“It was unbearable. We had to get everyone out of the residence. I wouldn't stay in there any longer than I had to,” says Jeff Senters of Kentucky State Police.
Police say they need to complete the investigation and interview the suspects before releasing their names or possible charges.
