Pulaski Co. scam warning retracted; officials say book sale is legitimate

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Authorities in Pulaski County have taken back a scam alert issued earlier this week. There was some concern about a person going door to door selling books. The Pulaski County Schools superintendent tells us the sale is legitimate. Steve Butcher says a college student from Texas A&M is selling the books, but she does not claim be to affiliated with the Pulaski County School system. He tells us the confusion happened because her publisher has the name Southwestern in it. That's the same name as a high school in Pulaski. Butcher says he's contacted the Sheriff's Office with the information.
