If it wasn't for a burglar's wave to a surveillance camera outside a Richmond restaurant, police may have never caught him.
23-year-old Matthew Feck was arrested early Tuesday morning after police say he went on a crime spree breaking into businesses.
His last stop was Casa Cafe where police say he was looking for a way in when he spotted a surveillance camera. He smiles, then waves to the camera.
Soon after, he told police he got a crowbar and smashed the camera. Little did he know though, the video was still recording.
Officers actually responded to the restaurant for a burglary alarm and questioned Feck who was standing outside. They released him after not finding any evidence.
Then, they reviewed the video and realized Feck was their man. He now faces several charges and remains in the Madison County Jail.
