WKYT staff, programming host honored with 4 Emmys

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKYT) - Members of the WKYT staff and those involved in programming airing on the station were honored with four Emmys Saturday evening at the 50th annual Ohio Valley regional Emmy Awards.

WKYT anchor Sam Dick and former WKYT photographer John Wilson won in the sports news category for their story on the woman responsible for closed captioning at Commonwealth Stadium for University of Kentucky football games.

Wilson also won in the news and sports photographer category for individual achievement. Wilson is now the chief photographer at KSL in Salt Lake City.

Amy Hess, host of the weekly program "The Local Traveler" which airs on WKYT, won in the program host/moderator/narrator category for her composite of work and in the magazine program category.

In the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, WKYT competes against television stations in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia.
