A Pulaski County woman is in jail facing 2nd degree criminal abuse charges after police say they found a small child living in unsanitary conditions.

Pulaski County Sheriff's Department responded to Four Winds Trailer Park Lot Wednesday morning.

The child's mother, 27-year old Kahyleaha Alcorn, was arrested on scene and her child was taken to the Department of Social Services.

A boy, under the age of two years old was found standing inside the trailer, at a broken window. The child had dried blood on his hand from a cut apparently by handling the broken glass.

Police say once inside they smelled a horrible stench coming from flies and cat feces scattered throughout the trailer. Deputies also say the child had on a diaper with feces excreting to his legs.

Neighbors say the family had problems before.
