Rounds of showers and storms continue to move through the region. This action will slowly wind down in the coming hours.
A woman is dead after a crash on a busy Estill County road.
It happened around 6:30 Saturday night on Highway 52, a few miles west of Irvine.
Police say a white car was pulling out onto the road, but entered the path of a red car, and clipped it.
That sent the red car skidding into a third car.
"From the preliminary investigation, after she was clipped, she was in an uncontrollable skid," Kentucky State Police Trooper Sonny Dunaway said. "There was nothing she could have done."
The driver of the red car was killed. The coroner later identified her as 24-year-old Desiree Stevens of Irvine.
Another person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 52 was closed at the scene for several hours after the accident.
