Wednesday morning was a busy one for Lexington police as officers were called out to two violent muggings, just minutes apart.

Police say the victims were walking down Roosevelt Boulevard when they were robbed at gunpoint.

The first mugging happened at 10:00. Two men approached a man at a construction site, put a gun to his back, and took cash and cell phones. The man was not hurt.

About 15 minutes later another man was held up at gunpoint about a block away. This time, the robbers were a masked man and a woman. The robbers got away with some cash.

A little while later, police stopped four men at the corner of Michigan Street and Charles Avenue. Two of the men matched the description of the suspects in the first robbery.

One of those men, 21-year-old Charles T. Walker, was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police in the Second Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Police are still trying to figure out if the two muggings were related.

Anyone with information relating to this investigation is asked to please contact the Personal Crimes Section at (859) 258-3700 or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020.

If we would go back to the old ways of justice, where if a person was found guilty of a crime like this, they would be secured to a whipping post and get a good a-- whipping. I bet you the farm that the other ones that might consider doing something like this would think long and hard about breaking the law.
