Demolition continues in downtown Lexington for the Centrepointe project.
Just this week the building that once housed the Dame and part of the Rosenberg building came down.
Demolition can continue, but the developers say they have to wait until next month to receive the final go ahead from the city planning commission to begin construction.
Once they receive permission, developer Dudley Webb hopes to have demolition finished by October. He says construction workers will then have to dig through about 15 feet of rock which will take until January. From that point, Webb told us he hopes to have the project finished in 21 to 24 months, meaning it should be completed by the end of 2010.
Animation is now available on a new web site for the Centrepointe project, you can get a good idea of what the project will look like from street level.
developers tell us they are still tweaking the tower design.
