LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington man has died weeks after police say he was hit by a car while riding a moped.

The Fayette County coroner's office says 37-year-old Rodney Pate died Friday morning at UK Hospital of a traumatic brain injury.

Earlier this month, police say Pate was riding a moped on Leestown Road, when a car slammed into the back of the moped. Investigators say Pate was not wearing a helmet at the time.

The coroner's office says Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset is handling funeral arrangements.
