The mayor of Burnside is behind bars in Pulaski County for allegedly running from police. Charles Fourman is charged with fleeing and evading and wanton endangerment.
It all started early Sunday morning in Somerset. Police first stopped him near the mall. Fourman said he was on his way to the hospital for a cut on his arm.
However, police say Fourman passed up the emergency room and continued on. Police finally stopped him with stop sticks in Russel County and arrested him. Police say that at this time they do no think drugs or alcohol were a factor.
No word yet on what this will mean for Fourman's status as Burnside's mayor, but the city council is meeting Sunday night to discuss the incident.
