A Jackson county family escaped a fire in their home late Sunday night.

A family escaped a fierce, late Sunday night fire in Jackson County.
The fire broke out on Gravel Lick Road in Sand Gap.
When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the roof of the two-story home.
Fire departments from Jackson and Madison counties responded.
