A fire leaves a home in ruins, and police say they know who started it.

29-year-old Christopher Herring faces arson charges. Investigators say his girlfriend was moving into the home.

The fire broke out early Thursday morning on Knoblick Road in Lincoln County.

Police say Herring and his girlfriend got into an argument not long before the fire started.

No one was hurt, but the home is a total loss.

The flames also damaged another home next door.

As a firefighter I hate people like this!! I understand that they were into it but to burn her house is another story. Every time we turn on red light and go on call we are putting YOU and/or your FAMILY in danger. Maybe he doesnt see it when you do dumb stuff like this then you are putting us (firefighters) at risk and in danger. So think befor you act crazy. It would hurt knowing that you set a fire and on the way we have an accident and kill your kids and wife/husband mom/dad how would you feel
