There was a radiation scare on Friday on a college campus.

Emergency crews evacuated the manufacturing technology building on the campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College off Leestown Road.

Employees found an old piece of machinery they thought was giving off radiation.

Emergency workers say it was a docimeter, a radiation monitoring device used on old military ships, and not a danger.

The machinery has been stored in the building for several years.
