Six years after the hospital in Garrard County shut its doors, a new medical facility is being built in Lancaster.

Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Madison County is building a primary care center, which will feature an internal medicine specialist, a lab and a specialty clinic.

Some people in Garrard County say it's a step in the right direction for providing better medical care.

The facility, which will be completed by January, will be built on the east side of Lancaster.
