Deadly Crash Victim Identified

Traffic is back to normal on I-75 after a deadly crash in Rockcastle County Saturday.

It happened in the southbound lanes at the 69 mile marker around 2:30 P.M. Teresa Dewey was killed in the wreck.

Police say the driver was trying to pass a tractor trailer, but lost control of the vehicle, hit a truck, then the guardrail, throwing her passenger, Dewey, from the vehicle.

The car's driver was also injured, but survived and was taken to the Rockcastle County Hospital for treatment.

The southbound lanes were closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation and crews cleaned up.

The traffic jam that resulted from wreck stretched for more than ten miles.

I want to thank everyone involved Saturday with helping the survivor of the accident and the four surviving puppy dogs. It really did mean a lot to her. Our community once again came together to help a stranger in need. Thank you WKYT 27 for not showing footage even though you were this first on the seen. That is an image that others do not need to remember. I have seen many wrecks there and I know there are several a week..how many more people have to die?

I saw this accident happen and am still shaken up today. My PRAYERS to the families. I have seen several cars "run out of road" at that very spot. Can this area be marked better?

I THINK GOD FOR NOT LETTING ME DRIVE. THEIR ARE TO MANY ACCIDENTS THAT HAPPEN ON 1-75 I'M SORRY FOR THE FAMILY THAT LOST HER IN THEWRECK.GOD WILL BE WITH YOU ALL THROUGH THE TRAGEDY OF YOUR LOVED ONE.
