Centre College says democratic U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford has accepted its invitation for a live televised debate in Danville.

Centre proposes a debate next month at the Norton Center for Performing Arts.

That was the location of the 2000 vice presidential debate and of last year's most heavily watched debate in the Kentucky governor's race.

Centre is still awaiting a response from Senator Mitch McConnell's campaign.
