The charges against a man, arrested after a major shoplifting spree, have been reduced.
20-year-old Darren Butler and 19-year-old Tara Hill were both charged with felony theft. But Monday in court, Butler's charge was changed to misdemeanor theft.
The two were tracked down by security guards at Lexington's Hamburg Pavilion, who called police.
They searched the car and found it full of clothes and accessories from six stores in the area.
Butler will be back in court in October for another hearing.
