Confession: Man Shot Parents, Later Bought Xbox

WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky man who pleaded guilty this week to killing his parents confessed to police that he shot his mother while she was sewing, then shot his father when he was looking for his mother.

Russell Bramlage, 23, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of murder and awaits sentencing Oct. 22. Under a plea agreement, he could serve life in prison without the possibility of parole for 20
years.

The Kentucky Enquirer reported Friday that three days after Bramlage killed Dr. Terry Bramlage and Lynda Bramlage, he bought an Xbox with a check he had stolen from them earlier.

The Enquirer disclosed details of the November 2007 crime from police reports and Bramlage's taped confession to Kentucky State Police on April 1, about six months after he shot his parents in the basement of their Grant County home.

During the confession, a detective asked Bramlage when he decided to kill his parents.

"That morning, I mean that, I mean like instant, I just snapped," he said.
