A man is indicted on several charges, including rape and murder, more than ten years after the crime.
A grand jury indicted Aarion Johnson, earlier this week. He faces nine new charges, including capital murder.
Johnson has been in jail for the past eight years.
Lexington police say Johnson broke into Susan Stoffels' home on Ross Street back in November of 1997. Investigators say he tied her up, stabbed her and then raped her.
Police say he was 17-years-old at the time of the crime.
Police say new evidence also links Johnson to at least three other violent crimes against women in Lexington.
Lexington police say their new Cold Case Task Force helped in this case.
