LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette Mall's spokesperson, Sarah Enlow, says 29 stores and a few restaurants will go in the former Sears space.
None of the tenants have been announced, but Enlow says some of them are upscale, designer stores that aren't currently available in Lexington.
Enlow also says this entire project is, what she calls, self-contained, meaning they aren't going to affect the space at the other stores in the rest of the mall.
The hope is the majority of stores will be open by the holidays.
Sears opened in 1971, when the mall was built and was the primary anchor store for the mall back then.
In 1993, it became a go-between when the mall expanded.
