Two men were airlifted to the hospital after a small plane crashed in Northern Kentucky. State Police were called to Knoxville Gardnersville Rd. in Pendleton County Sunday evening.

When troopers arrived on the scene, they found two men who had parachuted from the aircraft before it went down. According to the pilot, the engine had stalled and he was unable to restart the plane.

The pilot was identified as Dannie Scott Sharp, 33, of Butler. The passenger is Dwayne Sharp, 33, of Germantown. Both men were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The crash is under investigation. The pilot was operating a 1973 Sorrel Skybolt airplane and was flying out of the Gene Snyder Airport near Falmouth.
