A Lexington mother faces serious charges for what police say she allowed her teenage son and daughter to do inside her home.
Police arrested Michele Hall Landers last week at her Ashbrook Drive home in the Firebrook neighborhood.
She's charged with marijuana possession and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Landers, 49, is a well known bridal consultant in Lexington.
According to neighbors, she lived a pretty normal life at her home with her family. But recently, neighbors say that's all changed.
"There would be a lot of activity going on at their house and nobody really knew what was going on," according to a neighbor who didn't want to be identified. "There were a few times people would see them exchanging things in the driveway with people who had just pulled up."
That neighbor and others called police.
Last Thursday, police showed up to 2800 Ashbrook Drive and arrested Michele Landers, charging her with possession of marijuana and several counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Police also say Landers' teenage son and daughter were growing and selling pot from the home while their mother knew all about it.
"I'm kind of glad they got busted," said the neighbor.
27 NEWSFIRST made several attempts to get comment from Michele Landers, first at her bridal business and then at her home.
Her husband declined to comment.
"It's one of those things where it's just a bad situation," said the neighbor. "I mean, it's one of those things where it's sad to see it happen in a neighborhood like this."
Police also charged Landers' son and daughter, who now face juvenile charges for cultivating and trafficking marijuana.
Michele Landers pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to be back in court in October.
