A mother is indicted after police say she intentionally starved her twin newborn babies.

36 year old Tricia Kimbler is indicted on 2 counts of criminal abuse.

Police were contacted when the mother took the newborns toa doctor on July 30th. Police say the doctor was concerned her babies had not gained weight and were not thriving.

The children were immediately taken into custody. We're told one infant did not gain any weight over several months; while the other infant only gained a 1/2 an ounce.

The kids were taken away from the mother and were placed into foster care. We're told the babies are now doing well in foster care and are healthy.

Police tell us the mom has since moved out of Pulaski County and is believed to be in Indiana. Kimbler's attorney tells 27NEWSFIRST that she will enter a plea of not guilty.

If Kimbler is charged she could face anywhere from 5 to 10 years in prison on each count.
