LOUISVILLE, KY -- A man who died last night after a shooting at a Dixie Highway car wash has been identified, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal
Antoine Watts, 37, of the 5300 block of Rollingwood Trail off New Cut Road, was pronounced dead at University Hospital last night at 9:01 p.m., according to Jefferson County deputy coroner Larry Carroll.
An autopsy this morning showed the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, Carroll said.
Police said Watts was found lying on the ground at Clay’s Car Wash in the 3500 block of Dixie Highway at about 8:15 p.m. last night. Police were responding to the car wash after hearing reports of gunfire in the area, reports the C-J.
No arrests have been made.
Shively police Chief Ralph Miller Jr. said witnesses reported seeing a silver car with four men inside leaving the carwash northbound on Dixie Highway immediately after the shooting.
Miller said it appeared that multiple shots were fired and a number of people in the area heard them, including one of his officers who was nearby, the newspaper reports.
Police last night cordoned off a large area around the car wash at Dixie Highway and Bachman Drive as they searched for evidence. Miller said he had requested that Louisville Metro Police help with the search.
