FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - The military says the death of a 101st
Airborne Division soldier in Afghanistan is under investigation.
The Defense Department said Monday that 38-year-old Sgt. William
E. Hasenflu of Bradenton, FL, died Sunday in the Jaji District.
Hasenflu's unit was ambushed by enemy forces using small-arms fire
while taking detainees into custody, the military said.
Hasenflu was assigned to A Troop, 1st Battalion, 61st Cavalry
Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell.
Fort Campbell says Hasenflu entered the Army in May 2005 after a
stint in the Marines and arrived at Fort Campbell in October 2005.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Corbeau-Hasenflu, and
daughters Savannah, Ashley and Veronica of Cadiz, KY; his mother,
Jane Mann of Bradenton; and his father, Earl Hasenflu of Sarasota,
