Jobless Rates Jump

While Kentucky may not be feeling the pinch from the Wall Street fallout, we are seeing signs of the economic downturn here.

Jobless rates were up in 113 counties from last year. Magoffin County had the highest unemployment numbers with 10 percent, followed by Jackson County.

Woodford County had the lowest unemployment rate at 4.7 percent. It was followed by Fayette and Warren Counties at 5 percent.

Jessamine and Madison counties both reported 5.6 percent rates.
