Police arrest a man they say stole from a woman while he was working on improvements to her home.
Richmond police say 33-year-old Christopher Crouch was on a painting crew, working on a home on Norwood Drive sometime last week.
The homeowner noticed that some of her jewelry was missing from a jewelry box that was stored in her dresser drawer. Six rings, two bracelets and a set of earrings were missing. Those items were worth more than $6,000.
After an investigation, police found that Crouch, who worked on the painting crew, had recently sold two rings and a set of earrings to a local pawn shop. Police say he sold three other rings to an individual.
The victim identified those items as the ones stolen from her home.
Crouch has been arrested, charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $300. That is a felony. He is being housed in the Madison County Detention Center.
