CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Two teenagers were killed when their car collided head-on with another vehicle while they were trying to pass a third car.
According to the Kentucky State Police, those killed were 19-year-old Justin Atwood and 17-year-old Jade Sullivan, both of Campbellsville. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. They were pronounced dead Saturday night at the accident scene on US 68, 1 mile east of Campbellsville. Atwood had been driving.
The driver of the vehicle they hit was 21-year-old Lauren Dyer of Burkesville. She was transported to the University of Kentucky with non-life-threatening injuries. Dyer was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.
The collision is still under investigation.
