Two die after car flees police, crashes

LAGRANGE, Ky. (AP) - Police say two people are dead after fleeing from police and crashing their vehicle.

A statement from Oldham County Police says sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driving without headlights early Saturday, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Oldham County Police were called to assist and found the vehicle in Bucker, where it had crashed into a parked car and an electric pole.

Police said one occupant was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died after being taken to University Hospital in Louisville.

The accident remains under investigation. No other information was immediately released.
